What Happened?

Here is some background regarding the changes that will take place on the blog after May 6th, 2018.

The instigating moment for change was when Google's AdSense sent me a warning, threatening to cut off ad serving.  By way of explanation, they cited "no content" on a random review...the Tangkou Loli review, to be specific, which definitely has content, albeit old.  I tried and tried to figure out what was actually going on, and the only explanation I could track down is that the whole blog has too many photos.  True enough...but, bummer.  So I quit using AdSense.  There should no longer be any ads on this site, ever.

That experience could have made me sad or mad, but it didn't. I think online ads are annoying, so ditching them actually felt good.  As for the blog, I've been needing to change things up for a long time.  Dolls have literally taken over my house at this point.  I already have more dolls than I'll ever have time to review.  I also have more doll photos than I'll ever have the patience to edit!  A few cases in point are displayed on this page:

I've tried to reduce my doll collection many times before, but one thing I noticed is that I have a hard time letting go of a doll if I haven't documented it on the blog. Whatever purpose the blog actually serves out there in the world, I like to think of it as an online doll museum, cataloging--in detail--as many dolls as I can in one place.

So, after the Sunday Surprise post of May 6th, I will shift gears and start clearing out my massive collection of dolls.  As I do this, I will document many of those dolls here on the blog with several photos and some text--a mini review of sorts, but nothing anywhere near the same magnitude as the reviews that have become typical for me.  I no longer plan to purchase any dolls for the explicit purpose of reviewing them.

I might feel the need to post a massive review from time to time, but that's hard to predict right now.
We'll see how it goes!

Whatever becomes of the blog in the weeks and months to come, I will always be glad to see that you stopped by.  As I approach ten million total page views, I am struck by the sense of joy that your presence here has given me throughout the years.  Thank you.
