Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish I had a new review to offer today.  I have three things in the works--none of them quite finished yet.  Despite that, I didn't want to let the day pass without expressing my heartfelt thanks to all of you.  You've kept this blog alive with your encouragement and suggestions, and you make this a special place for me with your kind, cheerful, knowledgeable contributions.  Thank you.

I'm visiting my family in Boston (and making lots of pie!) but did manage to sneak out and get a single photograph for you. This is my Pullip Eos doll.  She's from the 2010 Steampunk collection.  She's a doll with a lot of flaws (squeaky legs, fragile outfit, arms that fall out, terrible hair) but I still love her.  I've actually kept her in the box for many years, but needed to get her out so that she could be in a comparison lineup for my next review.  That's a little hint at what's coming...

I hope all of you have a relaxing, happy, safe Thanksgiving!

Pullip Eos (discontinued).

    I think this doll is the best Pullip ever... I don't like Pullips so much, but I really love this.

    Have a great day, Emily!

  17. Thank you for having such a in depth blog with information on just about every kind of doll made. When I was starting my own collection, this was the only place that reliably had reviews of dolls I was interested in or saw second hand and wondered what they were. It also let me see dolls that I never can afford now that they are out of production. I'm glad you found a way to keep things going and I look forward to your Sunday surprise posts, even laughing out loud about the reveals. Your love of dolls comes right through the computer screen and infects all those that stop here. You're to blame for many collections growing beyond reasonable measure and I don't think anyone can be mad that you did so. I know I'm not! ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌

  18. What I like the very best about your blogs is your ability to show the beauty, value and unique qualities of each different doll. Oftentimes you will review a doll about which I initially have no interest in whatsoever, but I have never finished reading one of your reviews without appreciating some aspect of the doll reviewed. Adding to that your fabulous photographs which really bring each doll alive - the photos alone are priceless. Your photos have inspired me to find new and more expressive ways to pose my dolls for photos. Thanks, Emily, for your inspiration AND entertainment!

  19. So many others here have expressed so beautifully how I feel about your lovely blog. I've been reading for quite some time but I don't think I've ever gotten to comment yet. Thank you for such wonderful reviews that never fail to inspire me, make me laugh, and just generally brighten my day. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)

  20. Emily, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Here in the UK we don't celebrate it, of course, though all the retailers seem keen to tell us all about black Friday. I resist them every year because, to me, Boxing Day is the day to go shopping.

    Anyway, talking of shopping, I have to thank you for introducing me to Liv dolls. A friend and fellow Sasha collector told me about your blog at a time when I was looking for some horses for my Sashas. I read all your horse posts (and bought some horses), then realised that I liked your writing very much indeed, so I read all the other posts too. And I couldn't help noticing that you were a bit keen on Livs...but I'd never heard of them, never seen one, very much doubted that I ever would see one.

    So last week I walked into a charity shop and found myself face to face with a Liv doll sitting on a shelf. I recognised her at once. She was only £2.50 so I bought her and took her home. She had no clothes or wig: I found that my Makie's spare T shirt would fit her (who knew?), but of course Makie trousers are far too short. I went online, bought her some Barbie jeans and some trainers...did some research - Oh, there are five Liv girls? (I'm not interested in Jake.) So I went on to eBay and bought the other four. I think I have a new obsession.

    Again: thank you very much. The thing is, I love Sashas, but Sashas are not cheap and they do take up an awful lot of space. A Liv doll will fit in anywhere - you can sit them on bookshelves if you push the books back a bit. They are cheap, and they are charming. I may not stop at five.* And did I mention I'd bought them a horse?

    All the best, and happy Christmas!
    * I haven't
