They are made by an Australian company for a western audience. However they clearly are intended to copy Japanese doll lines and it seems they decided to be faithful to the source material and make them mostly pale. I checked Amazon first, but that turned up nothing, and I thought they might be hard to find with a Google search, so I figured I might as well include the link while I was at it. There were two cheaper individual dolls and two deluxe dolls that included an extra outfit and an extra pair of shoes. I think they'd also be able to wear the new line of Barbie clothing, since they all seemed to be akin to the new Curve Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16839805418529871239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-59539479686934039782017-08-01T15:58:36.191-04:002017-08-01T15:58:36.191-04:00There isn't much diversity in Japan, and these...There isn't much diversity in Japan, and these dolls were made for a Japanese market. They're pale, but not meant to be white. I think the immediacy with which white people see pale dolls as white instead of considering that they may be intended to be Japanese shows how Euro-centric our world is. Narrower "almond" eyes and a yellow-tinted skin tone is the American stereotype Ariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12300371067471255888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-1882101040228847842017-07-29T18:10:58.298-04:002017-07-29T18:10:58.298-04:00Thank you for the tip, Korglady!! :) I'm off ...Thank you for the tip, Korglady!! :) I'm off to investigate...Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18178054470349012341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-57501706493794904912017-07-29T18:10:19.640-04:002017-07-29T18:10:19.640-04:00Dear Donna, thank you for the lovely note. I'm also looking forward to de-boxing Chad and photographing him (I meant to do it on my last trip to NY, but it rained the whole time!) and I've pre-ordered Halle. I'm completely in love with the Mini Pals. They need a special photo shoot. Also, I just paid off a Zwergnase (wigged! Yay!) I purchased Koe when they first came available on Amazon and I think she's absolutely adorable. I love her size and her bendable knees. I would still love to get a full size Koe (especially the one with blue hair) if she ever becomes available in the US, but I agree with you that the mini versions are actually cuter than the big versionsKorgladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07139541649509644343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-7787738690077705282017-07-27T23:21:30.925-04:002017-07-27T23:21:30.925-04:00Hello! I remember awhile back you did a review on Rey dolls, just commenting to say that the Disney store Star Wars Elite Series Rey Premium Action Figure has dropped down to $7.99, which is ridiculously cheap for a doll I really love- I bought one when they were $15 and she's probably my favorite doll Elliottnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-16968025182607314692017-07-27T22:42:04.596-04:002017-07-27T22:42:04.596-04:00could you review enchantimals?could you review enchantimals?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07228325341396172519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1726715699839627686.post-90127544968700491572017-07-27T18:45:46.594-04:002017-07-27T18:45:46.594-04:00They must not have gotten the memo to make her min...They must not have gotten the memo to make her mini doll black for the US, too. It's a complicated issue. Diversity is often expected now, but all the same, is it realistic for a line of Japanese-ish dolls, or should inclusion take place regardless?
